## Build `a1025` — codename `argonaut` (2026-10-25)
Initial public release of **Bananarchy Linux**, focused on complete hardware and daily-driver software support for the **Nokia 8110 4G (`nokia-argon`)**, along with initial build targets for the **Nokia 2720 Flip (`nokia-beatles`)**, **Nokia 800 Tough (`nokia-tough`)**, **Nokia 8000 4G (`nokia-sparkler`)**, and **Nokia 6300 4G (`nokia-leo`)**.
### Base system and hardware support
- Alpine Linux Edge (`armv7`) root filesystem hardforked from postmarketOS `v26.06`, tuned for `< 95 MB` idle RAM usage on 512 MB devices.
- Mainline Linux `6.12.1-msm8916` kernel with custom drivers and patches for Qualcomm MSM8905 and MSM8909 smart feature phones.
- Full Qualcomm QDSP6/Q6Voice audio routing (`q6voiced`, PipeWire, WirePlumber, and ALSA UCM) for the boosted rear loudspeaker, boosted (+6 dB) front earpiece, internal MEMS microphone, and 3.5mm headset jack, plus 3-level PM8909 hardware vibration motor control (`pm8xxx-vibrator` and `sxmo_vibrate`).
- Custom `msm8905-cam` V4L2 kernel driver for the rear 2MP GalaxyCore `GC2395` camera sensor (`/dev/video0`, `800x600` RGB24).
- Custom `leds-msm8905-torch` kernel driver for the rear `SY7807` flashlight LED (`white:torch`), WCD audio codec initialization, and clean PM8909 poweroff.
- Custom animated Bananarchy boot splash (`pbsplash`) and shutdown splash, plus automated Qualcomm Sahara/Firehose USB EDL flashing (`flash-edl.sh`) with automatic modem/IMEI partition backup.
### Display server and window manager
- Pure X11 graphical stack built on cross-compiled **Xlibre** (`X11Libre/xserver`) with partial-rectangle `ShadowFB` SPI display updates and zero Wayland overhead.
- Custom **Sxmo DWM (`sxmo-de-dwm`)** window manager designed for `240x320` QVGA non-touch screens, featuring a vertical bottom-stack (`bstack`) layout, a 24px Pango status bar, a desktop `"Menu"` / `"Names"` softkey bar, and a Conky desktop clock and system status widget.
- Direct C-level handling of physical slider (`SW_LID`) open/close events and keypad wake keys with `< 2 ms` wakeup latency.
### Preloaded native keypad applications
- **System and context menus (`dmenu`)**: resident menu daemon with instant (`< 2 ms`) wakeup, 10-line vertical layout, live T9 filtering, and built-in submenus and hardware toggles.
- **Global controls drawer (`xdrawer`)**: instant overlay toggled by pressing both softkeys together to adjust speaker volume, earpiece volume, ringtone volume, ringer mode (`Ring+Vib` / `Vibrate` / `Silent` / `DND`), 3-level vibration intensity (`Light` / `Medium` / `Strong`), flashlight, sound/microphone mute, screen brightness, and keypad backlight.
- **Phone dialer (`xdialer`), call log (`xcalllog`), and call screen (`xcallscreen`)**: home-screen digit dialing with live T9 contact matching, interactive carrier USSD sessions (`*100#`, etc.), Dual-SIM `*#06#` IMEI inspection, call history filtering, and an in-call screen with speaker/earpiece switching, microphone mute, DTMF tones, and one-key normalized WAV call recording (`~/Recordings/rec_HHMMSS_<caller>.wav`).
- **Contacts (`xcontacts`) and SMS manager (`xsms`)**: full phonebook editor with direct Qualcomm QMI UIM SIM card contact import and export across SIM 1 and SIM 2 (`EF_ADN`), paired with a threaded SMS conversation view and multi-tap message composer with draft support.
- **Modem and Dual-SIM manager (`xmodem`)**: 4-tab cellular control center (`SIMs`, `Radio`, `AT`, `Log`) supporting physical SIM 1 / SIM 2 slot switching, SIM PIN unlock and PUK unblock wizards, PIN enable/disable/change, 2G/3G/4G radio mode selection, USSD requests, and a live AT command console.
- **Networks and Bluetooth manager (`xnetworks`)**: 3-tab connectivity manager for Wi-Fi scanning and WPA2 entry, Wi-Fi hotspot, QMI `bam-dmux` (`wwan0`) 4G/LTE mobile data and APN configuration, USB tethering, and Bluetooth pairing.
